As long as you spend the required amount and execute the bill pays it shouldn't matter.

The CC funding is dead. I can still open the account and fund the account traditional way and get the miles? I read the offer and it does not say anything about minimum funding requirement of a certain amount or such.
Read thread thoroughly this has already been answered.
1. Yes, still do traditional CG checking and fund normal method.
2. $50,000 min after 2 months or $30/mo fee
3. NO minimum except you need $1000 in account for debit plus paint fees since you don't like $50k deposit.

Is it possible to ACH the 50k in to avoid the $30 monthly fee and then ACH out the 50k after the 50k triggers the fee waiver? If so, does anyone know the dates to have the 50k be in the account? I'm coming up on my statement in 3 weeks and I suspect I will be charged the monthly fee beginning with that statement.

No. The requirement is an average of $50,000. You'd have to wire in $1,500,000 for one day to hit the $50,000 average over a 30-day period.

No, it's average balance over a month, not balance on the day the fee is due to be charged.

You can waive that $50,000 average balance requirement if you have a citibusiness preferred checking account and maintain an average balance of $15,000 in that account. Make sure they link your business account with your citigold account. That way you can have access to a $350 annual fee on the citi prestige and the citi aadvantage executive card instead of $450 each.

Ask me how I know

No, the Citi Gold package requires you to maintain at least $50K in your balance (or combined balances if you have more than one account) at all times during the month to avoid the monthly fee.

Worked for savings, using a Barclay issued CC. Called in yesterday on 2/8/2016; temporary authorization showed up today on 2/9/16

Are we all talking about the same thing here? In my experience, it wasn't even possible to get money into a CG account on Day 1, which would, presumably, have triggered the fees mentioned by #787.

The first two months are waived as a courtesy, in my experience.

Yes, the first 2-3 months are usually free. Then, you are subject to the monthly maintenance fees of the account type you have.

You really need to read the thread:
1. $50,000 must be deposited within 60 days
2. Points will not post until 90 days after the 60 day period so 150 days!
3. Must complete bill payment, debit requirement within first 60 days
4. $50,000 must be average amount for months 3,4,5 or $30/month fee.

If you were getting 1.05% interest in a internet bank which si common and moved $50K out for 3 months it would be cheaper to just pay $90 fees for not moving $50K into Citi Bank.

Sucks....

Just saw the news on my RSS feed. Opened Citigold on Sunday and faxed in the form for CC funding with my AAdvantage card Monday morning. (Dumb move!) No pending charges on my AA card so I doubt they go to it on Monday.

When we did it for my husband's TYP bonus, he didn't like the idea and only let me fund $4K with a Hawaiian card.

Another one I feel like I totally missed the bus on. :-(

You may have avoid a potential shut down by citi - if you are not aware, citi just started a new round of shut down yesterday... coincide with the stoppage of funding citigold with a cc.

It would be suckier if there is such a word - should the cc funding trigger a shut down. just sayin.

Your husband is a wise man!
