No mate, 77G does have a mini cabin (though slightly larger than that of 77H), in row 21-23

In my mind THE "mini cabin" refers to 77H (and previously 77D and 77A) config. It's my default search recommendation for folks asking for advice in J on 77H: "mini cabin", aka rows 11-12, 4 windows, behind F and in front of J galley in 77H/77D/77A (the latter two being no-longer-existing 77W configs). Although 77A was coffin J, it was configged almost the same (with just a different location of soiled linen bin and some crew closet purposes).

40C or row 59?
I will be on a 777-300ER Four Class from Los Angeles to HK using frequent flyer miles, no business class or premium economy available so I will be in economy. The seat reviews have mixed reports on the choice seats which are 40c or bulkhead row 59 as mentioned earlier. My concern is that these are near the bassinets which they call the "screamer seats". I would prefer just a center row isle but unable to get a seat assignment with my ticket. I can purchase an upgrade to 40C, 59C or 59H for $100. Thinking of doing this just so I don't get stuck in a VERY bad seat for 16 hours... Any suggestions much appreciated!

Depends.
How tall are you? If you're closer to six feet than five, you'll be better off with bulkhead. Yes this will mean risking the screaming baby its worth gambling that for leg comfort.
Of course row 39-40 over anything. But don't expect them without status. And a centre aisle (D/G) because CX is 3-3-3 - only have to give way to one not two on loaded flight.
Otherwise you'd be a bit better off not sitting in the bulkhead. row 65-69 to avoid the screamer seats if you don't mind the ride being a bit bumpier in the back. Row 41-43 if you do.

Thanks for that... I'm 5' 10"
Since I can't reserve a seat until 48 hours before flight time, the only choice I have to lock anything in would be to buy the upgrade. They are only offering 40C, 59C or 59H... would 40C the better pick of the three, you think? I know it's a gamble, appreciate the helpful info!

40C: Yes per SeatGuru http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Cat...77-300ER_A.php
Personally I'm not so sure. It either really works or it doesn't - double bassinet risk on 39B and/or 39J.
Between the remaining two - 59C? The bassinet is slightly further away (you'll still hear screamer baby but it won't be to your face).

ha, touche.
I think I agree...only slight annoyance is the large seatbelt fasten sign tends to light up the suite, and the slight offset for the first window (1A has one less window at your feet). If I could guarantee a world where the pilots and/or FAs didn't chat up by the ISM's seat every now and then, I'd probably do 1A every time........first world problems.
1A or 2A!
Although I would happily pay more than F for the jump seat if that were allowed

A bulkhead seat, and a pair on the side if you can get them.
Anything else and it can be quite restrictive when the person in front reclines.
Also with a bulkhead you can put a cabin bag on the ground during flight to give you a horizontal legrest and help with sleep.

Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with these seats on the 777 300ER, choice between 40C, 59C or 59H... thanks!

For Premium economy, given the choice between 30G and 32K, which would you choose? Those are the only aisle/window seats open in the front row, and having flown PE before much prefer the real leg rest to the foot rest (my last time, IIRC, was 30E or F, and the middle was tolerable given the bulkhead room.)
Biggest question to my mind is whether 32K will have enough room to reach the aisle if 32J is sleeping, plus obviously the baby lottery given the bassinet position.
Thoughts?
