BA Lounges HKG & BKK. Which one?
Hi fellow flyers,
I was looking for some Lounge advice from more experienced Business Lounge users.
I have two flights booked both in business class (cash fares). My Itinerary is below:
HKG to BKK (Flying Cathy Pacific) Departing 16:10pm Saturday 31st of January
BKK to LHR (Flying British Airways) Departing 11:10pm Sunday 7th of February
I have heard that as I am flying business class that I can use any of the Oneworld lounges at both BKK & HKG airports as well as the Thai Airways business class Lounge in BKK because of Thai Airways relationship with Qatar.
The questions I have are:
Is it true that I could in fact use the Thai Royal Orchid Lounges and will they except me being that I will be I am flying on BA metal as Thai is part of Star Alliance. Does anyone have experience of this?
Based on my departure times and my cabin being business, which lounge would people recommend
@ HKG?
@ BKK?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Sorry your logic doesn't hold about Because QR/RJ have relationships for lounge access with TG you get to use TG lounges while flying on a different OW airline.
https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access Will tell you which lounges you qualify for access to for flying J on CX & BA.

BA Lounges HKG & BKK. Which one
Hi,
I click on the link below:
https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access/
Then entered BBK as the airport and it came up saying I could use the Thai. I am not sure if this is because maybe Qatar doesn't have their own?
Please take a look yourself

QR and RJ travelers can but BA & CX passengers cannot. Look at the list of airlines next to the lounge for those eligible for access. Different terminals will further restrict access.

That will depend on where your flight takes off. At HKG I prefer the Wing Business class lounge.
Haven't done OW out of BKK so I will let others suggest but I'm imagining the CX lounge to have an edge over the BA J lounge.

There are a number of threads about these two specific airports. I recommend browsing them.

Flying BA out of Bangkok on Sunday 7 February you will have access to the Cathay Pacific lounge and/or the JL Sakura lounge. Note, there used to be the additional choice of a Qantas lounge but it shut up shop for good in November last year.

The reasons threads become outdated is because people start new threads that duplicate existing ones, and thus the information gets scattered across multiple threads.

When travelling on a oneworld airline we really are spoiled for choice at HKG. Note, the Pier Business lounge (near Gate 63) is currently closed but despite that you still have a wide variety of lounges to choose from.
My preference of business class lounges is The Qantas Hong Kong lounge - fresh healthy food and a decent range of drinks on offer. It is located near Gate 15.
If your CX flight is leaving from a gate further along the spine, Cathay’s The Bridge (near Gate 35/36) or The Cabin (below Gate 23) are also very comfortable lounges
