Sorry if this is detailed somewhere in the depths of the old TP run thread, but I couldn't find it - How would you book the sample ex EU I class run detailed in the OP, including CE, CW and AA Yups on one PNR. Is this possible on any website or would it have to be via a TA?

Thanks

How many tier points for a booking?

I am looking to travel club to Amsterdam. I live in Scotland so would route through LGW. Do I get the 20 tier points for the EDI - LGW leg as well as the 40 for the LGW - AMS? Would all be booked as a single booking.

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere - I just can't find it.

Thanks for any advice

yes, the domestic sectors will book into J class, so will also qualify as Business UK (helpful for lounge access)

Yes, you would get 20 TPs EDI-LGW, then 40 TPs LGW-AMS. Depending on your return, you would get the same 20+60 TPs if you were in CE+Business UK connection.

Its not covered elsewhere because the answer is obvious.

Points are calculated per sector. You'll get the points for the fare basis codes your booked under.

One other issue with the wikipost: the ex-EU I class run should show LHR-ATH at 80 TPs a go.

Been planning my getting to the US and all good. As said in the previous thread, no chance of upgrading so Y all the way.

Looking at:
Outbound: LHR-BOS on BA (11:30am flight); 11:50pm BOS-SJU on JetBlue
Inbound: SJU-MIA (6:20pm) on AA; MIA-LHR on BA
Comes in at £505 +£88 for the JetBlue flight.

Does mean a 9hr layover in BOS though. Not sure if I could get into the city for a look around for 4-5 hours (only carrying a backpack and laptop bag)

Could avoid BOS and fly direct from LGW to SJU (11h45 flight?) and stay overnight.

An alternate routing for a few more TP and Avios would be to pay £48 to fly from LGW-AMS, catch the 11:50am flight to LHR and connect to the 4:30pm flight to BOS. THis comes in at £466 + £48 = £514. Gets me 20 TP + 2000 extra Avios.

For some reason, catching the 4:30pm flight to BOS without the AMS flight adds £58 onto the price (£563 vs £505 for the other flights ex-LHR)

My favorite is SJU-MIA-LAX-HNL-LAX-LAS-MIA-SJU,priced at £750 in AA,it yields 980 tier points @ £0.765 per tier point.BA fly to SJU,or you can get a good fare through JFK for more tier points.
A couple of days on the little private beach at the Conrad SJU and a short stay in HNL makes it a pleasant beachy stay as well.

Logan's close to the city and has its own T stop. A 9-hour layover should be plenty for a little sight-seeing, if the weather is favorable.

I agree. xenole, there's good public transport around the town (if we ignore the bus shuttles to the airport, but even they are quite nifty) and the place is quite walkable. What I would do is think about eating early on the BA flight to Boston, declining the pre arrival snack meal, going to a city hotel for a top up light late lunch. Leave the bags with the hotel concierge. Then BOS is a great place for a good evening meal, so leave space! However you may well be quite tired by 8pm local so you probably shouldn't stay out too long. Which may also make the direct link to SJU a lot more comfortable, however if you have not been to Boston it's definitely worth a visit!

Hi

I'm looking at getting to NYC on April 6th and leaving on April 8th / 9th but would be keen to see if I can do a TP run at the same time. Any suggestions on itineraries for around £1k GBP? Happy to book WTP for the transatlantic legs and try to UUA on the return overnight.

Thanks!
