My partner and I are flying LGW to PUJ on 1st November this year for our honeymoon. The plane is apparently a 777 but that's all I know and BA won't let me select seats until check-in. I heard that the new WTP is more likely on planes from LHR. Anyone know how likely it is that we'll be in the new WTP?

Why can't you select seats? What happens when you go on BA.com and open your booking?

Putting the seat selection issue to one side:

If you look at the 777 fleet on TheBASource.com - you find that the only type at Gatwick are the 777-200ER.

If you then look at the bottom of the page:

http://www.thebasource.com/boeing777-200er.html

You can see that all the planes based at Gatwick have the WTP cabin from 2000 - so the old WTP cabin.

So the chances - unless a plane repositions or BA get on (quick) with their refurbishment of some of their 777s - are 100% it'll be old WTP.

Very unlikely to be the new WT+ I'm afraid. None of the London Gatwick based 777s have the new product.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your honeymoon nonetheless.

Anyone know if my 777-200ER YUL - LHR on Monday sept 26th will be new WT+?

I have been searching various websites trying to work it out. If it is the old product I will consider using my points to upgrade while the offer is there to CW as I find the new seats so much more comfortable than the old.

I found somewhere in my searches that the plane is likely to be 777-200ER 772. Not sure if that helps indicate old or new.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Flyertalk and the BA Board Brigsysmart

A dummy booking for the 26th September shows it is a four class 777 but it would appear they are not selling First seats. I'm not 100% sure about the ratio of how many are the new WT+ seats so I'll leave that to someone with a bit more knowledge on that front...........

However, there is one seat in CW available to upgrade. You can only upgrade to Club World if there is availability if you didn't know this already. I would snap this is very quickly if that's what you want.

So if you have the Avios to upgrade why not even though it's a relatively shortish flight in terms of 'long haul'.

Of course there will be additional taxes to pay as well.

thanks very much PETER01

I appreciate the info re there only being one more seat in CW to upgrade to! There were quite a few this morning, eek.
I'm reluctant to snap it up without knowing (if possible) if it's old or new product as I am v low on Avios right now and need them for another trip so I'm holding onto them tight. I will use them if it's old WT+ though Hopefully someone has a crystal ball out there.

Am I right in thinking that the 12F 772s have not been refurbished - only the 14F and 17F?

Or are there any out there with the old IFE but the new seats?

Consolidating what we've learned here and via BASource re which planes have/don't have new WT+... if the mods would like to make this a wiki for the thread, so others can edit for more detail, mistakes, changes etc, that might be a good idea?

Hi, does anybody know if BA007 LHR - HND has the new WTP seat? Apologies if it's been asked elsewhere but I'm struggling to find any solid information through Google and 2013 was the last time the route was mentioned on this thread.

I was looking for the latest info on this as have to book a London to NYC trip shortly in WT+. The guide only shows which aircraft have the system by registration, and how to identify that once ticketed and able to access the identifier code in MMB. I'm trying to work out if (barring a/c substitutions) it can be verified before the booking process, through the seat map function on either KVS or even in the booking process via the BA "choose your seat" option.

If the guide is to be believed, 80% of the LGW-JFK flights now have a "refreshed" WT+ and upgraded IFE, but I'm really not convinced that's accurate, hence the question...

Unbelievable we're still talking about this 6 years on! BA seem to specialise in snail-like roll outs.

Agree , makes Emirates projected reconfiguring of 777's to install the new F suites look like a well orchestrated expedited roll out.
