They have been a transfer partner in other versions of Membership Rewards for a long while. If, as it appears, they have agreed to participate in the USA version it's not unusual for the entry to appear, then it may vanish for a bit, and reappear when they make the official announcement.

Is there any indication that Etihad will devalue awards on AA metal? They seem to be using the old pre-devaluation AA award chart. I also don't know if Etihad charges fuel surcharges on AA metal...

I scored two great business awards recently on Etihad. There was a bit of a quirk in moving MR points to EY Guest, though. My Guest account balance showed the transfers almost immediately, but each time it took a few hours for the award booking section of the EY site to get the news.

SFO-AUH (Abu Dhabi) one-way in business for 106,000 miles. This is nearly a 16-hour flight. Can't imagine that in coach.
AUH-CDG in business for 63,000 points. I booked this in AUH for the next day.
You can see award availabilty on the EY site without being a Guest member.
This is was a fantastic use of Amex MR points. This is why I spend so much time churning credit cards.

No, my intended destination was Tehran to run the inaugural Tehran Marathon, which is in progress as I type. Alas, Iran refused entry for me and the other 27 American runners. Paris was Plan B for me.
A situation like this (winging an international trip) is where it can be very valuable to have a cache of Amex MR points.

Consider moving Amex MR to ANA next time. It's 104,000 miles for SFO-AUH in Business ROUND TRIP!
