The key criteria are surely:
For UK based members, the Amex Gold card is now once again offering 22,000 MR points for new applicants who have been referred. The card is free for the first year.

....and of course that I'm happy to offer a referal!!

Just FYI that you CAN self-refer (refer yourself for new application)

9/19 I sent myself referral from AMEX Plat to apply for AMEX Gold (20K signup bonus)
9/20 applied & approved online
9/21 received 10K referral bonus in my AMEX Plat (i was shocked to see it so quickly)
9/26 received new card via Canada Post courier

now I just spend $500 to get 20K bonus (and hopefully a surprise 15K extra)

Of course, I'd be happy to refer you as well if you have no AMEX yet

Can you use the same email address for the referral or should you use a different one?

Referred from Plat for Gold? I guess that's a Canadian feature; can't do that in US. :/

No, the key criteria is that you must NOT already have an MR accruing card or had one in the last 6 months, and that you must be prepared to spend £2000 in the first 3 months.

Your post may entice people to apply for the card who have no chance of getting the bonus.

However if you want to play silly games by constantly posting your limited info such that you end up on the end of this thread in the hope of having a better chance of getting a referral request...go right ahead.

UK and Canada referral offers

I can refer in UK and Canada, I will make charity donation of your choice if you accept my referral and I obtain my bonus.

CANADA

Gold Rewards Card - You get 20,000 MRs for $500 spend in three months from approval - Better than off the street - First year fee waived.

Gold Business - You get 25,000 MRs for $3,000 spend in three months from approval - Same as off the street - First year fee waived.

Platinum - You get 60,000 MRs for $3,000 spend in three months from approval - Better than off the street - Annual fee $699.

Aeroplan Platinum - You get 51,000 Aeroplans for $1,000 spend in three months from approval - Marginally better than off the street - Annual fee $499.

Aeroplan Gold - You get 20,000 Aeroplans with 15,000 on approval and 5000 after $1,000 spend in three months from approval - Same as off the street - Annual fee $120.

Aeroclassic - You get 5,000 Aeroplans on approval - Same as off the street - First year fee waived.

SPG - You get 16,000 SPGs - $120 annual fee - Currently better off signing up for the 15,000 and no annual fee promotion off the street.

UK

Preferred Rewards Gold Card - You get 22,000 MRs for £2,000 spend in three months from approval

Platinum Card - You get 52,000 MRs for £2,000 spend in three months from approval

Happy to refer for UK Platinum or Preferred Reward Gold cards - however at present if thinking of the Platinum Card you would be better going viar Quidco.comm and getting £100 + 50,000 MR points rather than the straight 52,000 MR points from a referral. For PRG the Quidco cashback is only £10 so probably best to go for a referral with the 2k extra MR (22k total) available via that route.
