Awards: Success stories of award booking on Etihad using AA miles (>= 2015)

This thread is about our members' successful award bookings on Etihad / EY using AAdvantage miles. Please do not post to this thread if you want tips and assistance on booking Etihad awards with AA miles but see this thread: How to use AA miles on Etihad / EY (Consolidated / Master Thread). The wikipost of that thread also contains instructions on how to search for EY availability.

Note: posts prior to 2015 about this topic (with the exception of a few 2014 end of year posts brought forward for continuity) may be found at ARCHIVE: Success stories of award booking on Etihad using AA miles

Just booked LHR-AUH-SYD F one way on the A380 in Nov. Call center agent was really good and the process was painless.
Going to call back tomorrow and get the EY record locator then try do seat assignment.

Just as a data point, it took almost exactly 36 hours for the reservation to be ticketed.

I am trying to get an Award to India using AA miles. This is what it looks like I can get for my desired dates.
BOS-ORD-RDU-LHR-AUH-BLR
BOS-ORD-RDU-LHR on AA F
LHR-AUH on EY 380 F
AUH-BLR on EF J

I know I can do JFK-AUH in F but I really want to do A380 F apartment.
I guess if space on JFK-LHR on AA becomes available later, I can change BOS-ORD-RDU-LHR to BOS-JFK-LHR for free

Query:
Is this valid routing?
Do have to pay LHR APD even for a connection?

How many AA miles did that routing cost and how much did you have to pay for taxes? I'm interested in doing that route in the fall and just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

It's exceeding MPM...

Most probably they will you charge two awards. CAI-AUH and AUH-LHR.

I did EY-QR-BA on one ticket, so it seems possible (subject to the remaining rules about routing).

Two. AA don’t let you travel from Europe or the US to Australia via the Middle East (transiting in third region rule).
