04/08 Flight 304 SEA-PSP U/G T-36ish as MVP
That puts me at 2/5 UG so far this year, honestly better than I expected as MVP.
I'm quite excited about this U/G....taking my first leisure trip in a while and can't wait to start vacation tomorrow.
Very likely will hit MVP 75K late this year... looking forward to what U/G % looks like in 2016.

4/8/15 -- AS #37 MSP-SEA -- Upgraded to F at T-120 as a G75K
4/8/15 -- AS #109 SEA-ANC -- I was upgraded around T-24 but was not able to take advantage of the perk. Flight #37 was delayed 3 times for a total of almost 2 hours, so I called to SDC to #731 so I didn't risk mis-connecting.
I ended up being #4 on the upgrade list for flight #731 but IMO things turned out alright -- a window seat in Y with an empty middle seat on a late evening no-hot-meal-anyway flight. And once again I would note for the record that under-seat window storage in Y on the 800s and 900s is better than the window seat in F -- the space is both wider and taller.
My only regret is that if I'd been on #109 I would have had a shot at trying the new Tom Douglas miso ginger chicken dish catered out of Seattle ... Maybe next time.

I fly AS twice a week but am not elite (banking to AA although if I realized what my travel schedule would be this year I probably would have started differently). Anyway I probably end up scoring a same-day paid upgrade about 20% of the time. Right now there are 10 names on the upgrade list and I am sitting in F on the tarmac as a non-elite. I'm guessing AS is just trying to get as much revenue out of those seats as possible before offering MVP upgrades but I'm still kind of surprised. Is there a thread that explains upgrade priority? I couldn't find one.

SEA-ORD is seemingly impossible for a gold, so I've been doing instant upgrades or guest upgrades if/when U space opens in advance (I've been fortunate seeing it a month or so out). Did that for both of these:
4/13 AS34 SEA-ORD. 61 on upgrade list at gate.
4/16 AS23 ORD-SEA. 43 on upgrade list at gate.

4/16 AS23 ORD-SEA. 43 on upgrade list at gate.

4/16/15 BLI-HNL AS 807 MVP Upgrade cleared at T-24(ish) hours....
I had checked my reservation in the morning (actually called 'cause I saw space was available) and they said there was some delay with the upgrades.... but by the time I checked in I was cleared.... and then a few hours later I got my notification... oh well

4/20 AS 34 SEA-ORD no upgrade at T-24 (checkin) though #4 of 15 when checking in. Web site shows AS willing to sell 4 more F seats. Ooh. Check upgrade list 8 minutes later. #5 of 16. 8) MVPG here, and am 1 for 3 this year. At least the 1 was DCA-SEA so I made the most of it.
