Not exactly. The problem may arise in cases that people "buy" awards using miles that were transferred from other programs (e.g. CC-related ones) for the sole purpose of booking flights for people other than the account holder. As M+B does not allow miles transfers (or am I wrong?), there is no such risk here.

only risk i foresee is, if there is an issue with the ticket, and the issue requires your friend to contact the ticketing airline (Aegean) for ticket reissue/revalidation etc. Aegean would definitely be like...who are you again?

What would the reason be to not issue the ticket or to deny boarding? In the situation I described, the companies/FFPs do that to investigate whether there is a commercial misuse of the system, and this takes some time. In simple cases a phone call to the member solves such a potential problem.

Award booking taxes
Hello everyone
A newbie in the redemption game. I am trying to book a J ticket and when I use the ITA Matrix, the estimated tax portion of the ticket is 305 euros. However, when talking about this with A3 customer service I get told the taxes are 590 euros.
I have had very good experiences booking the return legs so I am loth to think A3 is getting this wrong ...
Any ideas why the disparity would be so stark .... I am at a little bit of a loss.

This are 2 one-way tickets and on the return you need to connect in SIN or BKK.

SQ is not a nonstop, it flys via SIN. So 2 o/w's at 12500 each?
