Thumper - gee, it might have been because a posting about the AA Web site doesn't seem to fall into the category that MilesBuzz! is about. I think the forum description of MilesBuzz! says that the forum is about frequent flyer programs miles and points. Even I fail to see that a post about the AA Web site falls into that category unless you were to be more specific about a particular function of the AA Web site that had to do with the AAdvantage program. And even then I'd say it would seem the post to be more appropriate to the AA forum, rather than MilesBuzz!.
So, while I understand your comments and posting to be sort of light hearted, it still seems reasonable to me that you are solely responsible for the action to begin with. Had you used your experience and knowledge of FT on where to post the topic, it would still be relevant today.
Now, another thing you might have done was to send an email to me about any loading problems on the AA forum on FT. If you had, we may have been able to fix it sooner. See, we really aren't able to read every post in every forum every single day - which is why it's still cool that members would contact us personally should something be out of the ordinary. In the case of the AA forum - we were contacted by another member and took immediate action on the forum and it was fixed (a little corruption in one of the threads slowed things down). It was easy for us - just difficult without knowing.
So, to answer your question - it wasn't AA who highjacked the AA forum on FlyerTalk, it was mis-communication.
Hopefully this does explain a very reasonable side of the story. But if you need additional help with understanding the forum descriptions and the types of posts which make them up, let us know and we'll assign someone to help you. Its the least we can do to a long time member like yourself, or for that matter, even a new member.

My comments previously have addressed the topic of this thread and the response.
Now, for this last post, I have not seen this thread and have because of a very considerate tip by Live4Miles visited the thread and posted my comments. Very interesting.

A well-thought out idea. I like the concept, but may want to alter the delivery. This seems true with new TSA employees in a few forums. However I have some concern that by calling out this type of member, it almost seems we become more indistry-related than consumer. It is my hope and goal that FT remain - home of the traveler. What might you think if these advisements were noted in the welcome notes to each member or better yet, even adapted as part of the TOC and other new member communication?
Again, idea is very much appreciated.

Sorry, I couldn't resist, but when I see someone posting on this forum, I always try to help them by directing them to the correct one, and I don't like much when people do this, but hey, what the heck!

Randy, for new members your suggestion is perfect.
For the existing ones that are employed in travel related fields, IMHO you have to be proactive. Many people overlook the FT announcement icon on the top of the boards, or that would be the ideal place for this type of alert. Therefore to protect the existing posters that are an invaluable source of information and our friends, I strongly urge you to place an appropriately worded warning as a thread in every affected board.
The number of industry people that this warning relates to are a minority on FT, and I am sure that you will not have a problem keeping this a traveler oriented board.
Thanks for recognizing the urgency and importance of my post.
