How an incharge FA can make a great flight!
I just got off a YYZ-YVR flight and the incharge FA (Jeff) was simply wonderful. He really made the flight a lot more enjoyable.
He was greeting everyone at the door of the aircraft, addressing everyone by name according to their BPs and wishing everyone a great flight.
He was working J on this particular flight. He came around, addressed everyone by name once again and introduced himself to everyone while taking drink orders.
Lunch service was very good. Crab cake appetizer, choice of Salmon with pasta, beef with rice or tortellini. There was an elderly couple in front of me who couldn't decide what wine to choose, the incharge came out with all the wines and gave them like a tasting session and let them decide. Wow!
There were only 2 FAs working J on the 763 as it wasn't full. They were quite busy between cooking and serving but they were never stressed out as the incharge kept on helping out the other FA.
Cookies and ice cream were served afterwards and it seems like there were an endless supply of cookies and everyone were offered more if they wanted.
Both FA in J then came around at the end of the flight to thank everyone for flying AC and asked whether there was anything the crew could have done better.
So a very good flight overall. The in charge really did took the lead and made the flight very relaxing to work on.
Well done.

Are these cookies boarded as a dough (like you can buy at the grocery store, like Pillsbury), and baked onboard, or is there some other trick? I've heard they are very tasty.
Kind of makes me reminisce of the great cheesecakes CP used to serve in Y back in the early 90s. Even if the pork or salmon was a bit over-reheated, I always looked forward to desert on CP.

Great to hear Empress! Keep it up AC!
As for the ice cream, I really like the Cadbury stuff UA serves ex-LHR to the U.S. in Y, nonetheless...

It's too bad they don't bake the cookies on board. A few years back Air Nova used to bake chocolate chip cookies during the flight(BAE regional jets). There is something to be said for the smells of fresh baked cookies. I was told it forced them to double up on their milk inventories.

I'm spending too much of my time on the wrong side of the curtain. It's a curse of being a "Domestic Elite" buying FUN fares. You even offer a choice! It seems so decadent compared to the Peek Frean shortbreads.
