just got AAdvantage master card platinum in mail today

I am curious. I just got it today.

So i will activate it. But you know how when you get a new card, they skimp on the details?

How can one be sure that first 6 months annual fee is waived?

how can one be sure that, if used correctly, you will receive 10,000 + 250 miles?

You can't be sure. Maybe AA is going to pull a fast one on you. You'll never know til you try it out.

Welcome to Flyertalk, the phoenix!

I think you'll get the best answers to questions about the American AAdvantage Mastercard over in the American forum.

Lots of folks have discussed their experience with this card, and in particular the 6 month fee waiver and 10,000 bonus miles for signup.

See, for instance:

I have this card myself, having taken advantage of the same offer in question -- really because I thought I needed a Mastercard, so many recent promos are tied to using a specific kind of credit card as payment. I haven't been hit with a fee yet (I've hard the card 3 months) and my 10,000 bonus miles turned up after about 2 months.

Since the question is about American, and I think the resources above will likely answer your question in any case, I'm going to close this thread here in MilesBuzz. If you have further thoughts to add or questions on the subject, please feel free to start a thread in the American Airlines forum or reply to one of the existing threads.

Best,
Gary
