Try being nice to AC phone agents

Lately each time I phone AC (on the Elite number)with a question or to book a trip I always make a point of letting the staff know that there are many us who do appreciate the work that they are doing and the tough times they are going through. I usually say it right at the beginning so they know they don't have a difficult customer on their hands.

They ALWAYS say thanks and appreciate the support. Many will often say they have been told by customers "they are glad that they might be losing their jobs" or "AC deserves what it gets". They seem to understand the customers frustrations but they said the personal attacks do get to them after a while. It's also amazing at how helpful they are when someone has a kind word (just like anyone is - imagine that).

I don't have much time to be on FT this week (real busy with work) but wanted to say that we all know that AC has some great staff and a little kindness to them for no other reason than to be kind, can mean a lot to them during the tough times that they did not cause.

I would extend that comment to all AC staff in general.

I flew on the weekend and find that staff really respond to customer encouragement. They need TLC in these though CCAA times.

In fact, I have noticed that staff are trying very hard to deliver good service.

What goes around.... Agents have always been good to me on the phone and in person (save a few examples in YYZ).

Recent case of asking to have Mom and me seated next to each other across the aisle on my flight (today - YUL/FRA) I arrive at the airport and we are 5 rows apart. Agent on the ground shows that out itins are not linked, but is unable to give us the desired seats. We do get to sit together although one of us is in the middle. Anyway, the concierge in YOW (she was an absolute star in CP days) even tried without success and I am but a lowly Elite. Arrive in YUL and the MLL agent has at least got us closer to each having an aisle close to one another and promises to try as flight time approaches.

Anyway, this long winded incopmprehensible story to say that with rare exception that AC phone and ground staff are great.
