Any flights leaving LGW will also incur an additional UK Air Passenger Duty fee of £75 (about CAD$130), besides any Plus upgrade costs, when Plus is selected.
Can you upgrade for $200 from the lowest econo fare too? That's a steal

It definitely is.

I think I've booked flex once and the rest econo for WS and the OLCI upgrade prices are always the same(based on distance).

Happy to hear that a 9+ hour flight is $200. That's like $20/h lol. Crazy

Anyone purchased plus seats on ws24 yyt-lgw? Trying to work out cost if it's available for my flight next week. Should be $120 if I have things right.

$200 confirmed with no extra taxes YYC-LGW from Econo. Unreal deal for PY comparable to AC/BA.

Better than the thousands I paid to upgrade fare from Econo-Plus last week. Still cant believe I paid lol. Too scared of INTL Y haha

YYT-LGW should be $120 as I don't think they fly the 767. Please report back!

Oh and I can confirm if you do upgrade to Plus at check in, you can call in and get your economy seat selection refunded($20) if you paid and selected a seat before the upgrade! Big ups to Westjet for this. $180 for a 9+ hour flight to LGW for PY lol!!!

I received a refund on econ. seat selection when upgrading to 767 Plus to OGG but don't believe it's supposed to be done.

YYT-LGW was, indeed $120 and worth it for the overnight flight. My only complaint is that with no-one in 3A (I was in 3C), had there not been the seat divider/table strapped into 3B I could have lifted the armrests and laid out across the seats for a sleep like I do on AC's 319's.

$120 compares reasonably(ish) with AC's $100 fee for premium seats on the A319 and the overall flight cost was half the price of AC Tango so that made it even more palatable!

I recall a while ago Golds used to get comp upgrades to Plus. Does that still happen? I am flying LAS to YYZ 5/17 and then YYZ to YEG on 5/18.

Considered upgrading on my return YYT flight tomorrow. The $120 (GBP60ish) fee is fine but the APD GBP75 makes it too expensive for my blood so I'll be sticking in the cheap seats I think.

AtlanticXpat, so the base cost for the upgrade is £60 and then there's another £15 for fees/taxes? For a total of £75? Or £60 + £75 for a total of £135? (If the latter, then, YIKES, I understand your reluctance. Fees that cost more than the service drive me crazy.)

We'll be flying that route in June, so I am curious. Though we fly IN to LGW and BACK from DUB, so the taxes coming home from Ireland may not be as awful as from the UK.

No, 64 pounds for the plus upgrade plus 75 pounds air passenger duty for a total of 149 pounds. Unsurprising to me that all plus seats were still open at t-24.

Only 2 Plus seats filled on ws25 today. The 75 Gbp apd really is a killer. Cost for plus upgrade on this leg would be getting on for 50% of my total ticket price.

I received a comp upgrade on Thursday, YYZ-YYG. Much appreciated too, it was a full flight.

What is the economy plus seat configuration on WS 24 YYT-LGW? What does your $120 get you? I'm going that way early in June, and wonder if it's worth it to upgrade. Also, when I booked my flight, I was assigned seats. Not bad ones, either. I don't fly WS much (non *A), so don't know anything about how it works for assigning seats (I didn't pay extra), or what their econ+ is like.

$120 CAD from YYC-JFK at T-24 hours. I took it. Plus was full, not sure how many were paid and how many were gold upgrade.
