Does this segment count as an "eligible sector"?

Hi everyone,
For the velocity account, does this count as an "eligible sector"?

I'm booking the flight from delta (a partner), giving money to delta.com, on their own flight number (dl 5830), BUT this flight is also marketed with a VA codeshare number.

So for an "eligible sector" do I have to book on VA (va.com) or is delta fine?

I WILL BOOK THE DELTA FLIGHT NUMBER NOT THE CODESHARE SO WILL THAT WORK?

Sorry for the caps lock, just want to clarify some things.

Or if this does not count for an eligible sector how can I book the codeshare on Virgin Australia?

Thanks!

VA marketed or zip!

You need to be booked using the VA flight number, not just travelling on a DL flight that has a codeshare. e.g. VA6***

22.2 Eligible Sectors

22.2.1 Where a Member travels on a flight where Virgin Australia is the Marketing Carrier, each Flight Sector will be considered an Eligible Sector.

Would you book that codeshare via phone? Because it seems that the here aren't no inline options.

Is this DL5830 SDF DTW or LAX OAK ?

You will not be able to book that as standalone VA marketed flight.
Only in conjunction with a long haul VA flight.

You'll only be able to book VA codeshares that connect to actual VA flights or Australian cities.

And only as 1 ticket SYD/MEl-LAX-OAK. Not able to book as a separate VA marketed flight LAX-OAK.

Airlines having tag on codeshares to a long haul on there own aircraft/flight is common.

Actually, this can be done. You need a TA willing to issue the additional segments as a conjunction ticket.

It would be probably quite expensive to do as they would charge a reissue fee (normally around $200) + fare difference + service fee .

VA does not have a airfare to sell on a stand alone VA*DL USA segment and needs to be quoted in combination with AU- USA flight
