For the velocity account, does this count as an "eligible sector"?

I'm booking the flight from delta (a partner), giving money to delta.com, on their own flight number (dl 5830), BUT this flight is also marketed with a VA codeshare number.

So for an "eligible sector" do I have to book on VA (va.com) or is delta fine?

I WILL BOOK THE DELTA FLIGHT NUMBER NOT THE CODESHARE SO WILL THAT WORK?

Sorry for the caps lock, just want to clarify some things.

Or if this does not count for an eligible sector how can I book the codeshare on Virgin Australia?
