Connecting to AF/KL on separate tickets?
I have an Upper Class inbound flight JFK-LHR, redeemed through VA Velocity, with which I have Platinum status. I have two onward flight options back to Australia, either QR CDG-DOH-MEL or BR AMS-TPE-BNE (both currently redeemed in J, and I'll eventually cancel whichever one is not needed). So I'd be looking for a cheap economy cash fare LHR-CDG (AF) or LHR-AMS (KL) as appropriate.
(This is in March, in case that affects any answers due to lifting COVID restrictions, SkyTeam entry, etc.)

- Will the VS agents at JFK check me through onto AF or KL on a separate ticket?
- If so, can I do a pure sterile transit at LHR T3 rather than clearing the UK border? This might make the difference between booking a two-hour layover or a four-hour one.
- Can I access the Clubhouse at LHR based on status and/or the inbound boarding pass, with my onward flight not being on VS/DL?
- If so, does the Clubhouse have (open) showers, which I will probably want at that point?
- I would also have access to Revivals by status, if I have to clear the border or if it gives shower access, but I suspect it may not be open long after my ~10:55 scheduled arrival?
