Lack of reward seat sales

Anyone know why the reward seat sales seem to be so few and far between? It used to be that there would almost always be at least one destination listed, but I've not seen one for ages, just the message:

Sorry, we don't have a Reward Seat Sale at the moment. However, please check again soon as we update the site regularly.
'Soon' and 'regularly' don't seem to be the best words to have used in this case. Was wondering whether I've missed any inside info about this, perhaps it's gone until the (longest ever) website redesign is finished?

It isn't great, but most of the time the reduced reward seats were in Y anyway, so you paid as much in taxes and surcharges as a discounted paid Y ticket.

[Happy to be corrected but...] they never ever seem to discount UC redemptions.

Spookily they have just announced a reward seats sale to most destinations in Y and PE - http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb...sBooking=false

You have to be logged into your FC account to see it I think.

The points may have gone down, but the huge airline imposed 'surcharge' and a few government taxes are still a killer.

Indeed. I don't want to spend my miles on a Y redemption - doubly so with the taxes and surcharges Nottingham Nick mentions.

It would be good for you though, just to see how the other half barely survive
