poor timing: SAN-BOS
As a regular SAN-BOS flyer (at least once a month) I was happy to see VX join the game. I'm primarily a JetBlue and United flier. With 3x LAX-BOS and 2x SFO-BOS I figured there has got to be some good connecting flight options out of SAN.
Unfortunately is only one valid SAN-SFO-BOS daily flight option!! VX doesn't fly SAN-LAX so the LAX connections don't do me any good. Of the two flights out of SFO, the first one leaves too early to allow a connecting flight from SAN. Of the 5 west coast flights only one is valid from SAN (the red-eye via SFO). Did they realize this when they put together the schedule??

Probably. The connections out of SEA aren't that awesome, either- the only 7 day flight SEA-BOS is just the red-eye out of LAX, with 3+ hour layovers, plus a couple of M-F flights. BOS-SEA is better, but not much.
I am guessing that connecting traffic on VX is pretty slim, and that things are point to point, plus you really need more frequencies to make hub/spoke work. This is sort of logical when you realize that B6 and AS fly this route directly for SEA, much like UA and B6 fly this directly for SAN. VX is probably just trying to optimize scheduling for SFO and LAX at this point.

Although you don't seem too enthused you still have AA through DFW, with speculation they may be back in the SAN-BOS market after winter and UA through ORD and DEN, not to mention the daily direct B6 year-round.

I almost always fly the redeye. UA canceled the LAX-BOS redeye which just leaves me the SAN-SFO-BOS. DEN/DFW/ORD really don't factor in since those redeyes don't get me enough sleep. B6 is on my list - I just wish they'd offer some sort of elite program and had something I could upgrade into!!

There has been speculation of a revamped FFP but I couldn't speculate about what it would include. There is a thread on the Trueblue FT page about it with all kinds of hair on fire speculation. Enjoy!
