SkaterJasp would you mind adding the link to the eleVAte program to your original post? There is a join link on that page. Just joined.

Love one of the secret questions:
"How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood"
Straight from Monkey Island:
Guybrush: "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"
Carpenter: "A woodchuck could chuck no amount of wood since a woodchuck can't chuck wood."
Guybrush: "But if a woodchuck could chuck and would chuck some amount of wood, what amount of wood would a woodchuck chuck?"
Carpenter: "Even if a woodchuck could chuck wood and even if a woodchuck would chuck wood, should a woodchuck chuck wood?"
Guybrush: "A woodchuck should chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, as long as a woodchuck would chuck wood."
Carpenter: "Oh shut up."

I'm a bit distracted today, but I realise that the eleVAte sketchy details sound very much like DJ (Virgin Blue) Velocity rewards program.

so, 1 r/t in F earns a free tkt?
It looks like I am going to book 3 tkts in F to meet up with my UAL flts to AKL The price comes to about 1k for each r/t. SO, based on what I am reading I would get 5K elevate points and that would be enough for a R/t in coach? The price is cheaper than a Y-up on CO and it looks like it would be worth the schlepp over to JFK (we normally go EWR)
If so that is a great deal. I like the idea of the mood lighting in the cabin. Way cool. Anything that Sir Richard is involved in has to be cool!
Checked the UA site and it would be more than VA. Any ideas when they will be flying out of EWR?

Yes, it does, but it will also subject you to the delays of big cities with famous airports (think fog and rain at SFO, or the 5pm rush at JFK). Will be interesting to see the "on time" factor after a few months of operation from these airports.

Easy to understand and enjoy?
From the website:
"Starting with your very first flight, you'll earn 5 points for every $1 you spend for travel on Virgin America. Then, in the coming months, youll be able to redeem a free trip for as few as 4,900 points. Earn a free flight after as few as 4 roundtrips!"
My concern is with "as few as 4,900 points"? Is that maybe for a short-haul (e.g. SFO-LAX) flight, or could it also be for a SFO-JFK trip? If so, I would consider purchasing the discounted F fare for a SFO-JFK r/t since that would immediately earn enough points for another SFO-JFK r/t. 2 SFO-JFK roundtrips for $890, with one in F...not too shabby.
But I'll await some clarification from VA on this...

I'm a Founding Member! Yea!! Now, what? I'm afraid the closest airport that's mentioned anywhere that VX will fly anytime soon is IAD. I can find a way to fly somewhere from there!!
What can anyone add to the earlier post about food service onboard? The info on the website is VERY vague....

Which flight did you book?? You may see Governor Schwarzenegger, Mayors Villaraigosa (L.A.) & Newsom (S.F.), and some big time A-List celebs (which are a big surprise) on the first SFO-LAX flight.
Sir Richard Branson will be on the JFK-SFO inagural flight!
I'm so excited ~ NO sleep at all last nite!

Joined today even though VA isn't at PVD yet, just want Founding Member Status.
It'll be interesting to see what benefits will come of it.
It set my home destination as BOS, sign of things to come?
I do hope VA makes it to PVD at some point though.
By the way - anyone know the special founding member perks?
