How can i pay fee to upgrade from MCS to F after check in
Do i have to call in?

I'm also gold and typically like to call in the upgrades before checking in. At T-24, I call in and have them comp upgrade into MCS and then process the paid upgrade into F. Then I check in with my new confirmed seat. It should be easy and they can do it all on the same call.

Ah, yes. I ran into a similar situation last month. Was fortunately able to get the comp to MCS because a CS agent on a previous call told me I would be able to do the comp on an award ticket. They played back the tape, saw they made an error, and allowed the upgrade so I could then pay for F.
