Lunch
One of the best domestic meals of the year. Much better than anything on USdbaAA including three class transcon First. Choice of Butter Chicken or Pea Risotto. Butter chicken had just the right amount of Indian spices. Not too hot, not too mild. Absolutely delicious!

Good salad.

Excellent warm roll.

We both loved, loved this dish.

Can you tell?

The Lemon Rasberry tart was good although a little dry.

Great meal on a virtually private flight with only one other F pax. But these FAs need some training. Single PDB but nothing more during a 45 minute mechanical delay in DEN. "Sorry, we can't open the snacks until we're in the air." LOL. My Bloody Marys were fine but no offer of wine during lunch. But, the seriously annoying safety musical and boarding/taxi music was enough to cause Mrs. SFO to remark that she didn't want to fly VX again.

The VX safety video is for me similar to the new AA tail... I hated it at first but have grown to like it. It now brings a smile to my face when they play it.
As for the snacks, I think that they're provisioned in a cart in the back -- so getting them for you before they wheel the carts up to start main cabin service may indeed have been non-trivial.
I've had a fair bit of lackadaisical VX service lately, including not bothering with hot towels and/or nuts on 4 out of my last 6 flights. The best was last week when the FA came by 45" before landing and asked if she could use my (still wrapped) blanket. She then plopped down on the jumpseat, wrapped herself in the blanket and read her magazines the rest of the flight. Didn't offer the cabin a final round of drink refills (though she did manage one pass through with the snack basket).
I'm surprised that DEN-SFO gets "better" catering than LGA-DAL which is 40% longer. The rigatoni and the chicken with cous cous were both just ok (although, to be fair, definitely healthier and better than what you'd get on UA or AA). I've had my fill of fava beans for a long time, that's for sure...

I flew VX once on main cabin extra DCA(or IAD)-SFO and remember not eating much because I didn't really like anything being offered.

Dinner
One of the best domestic flights of the year. Our personable FA Chris was the complete opposite of the witch that served us yesterday.
Flawless service from start to finish. And another amazingly good meal.

The Grilled Peruvian lomo saltado marinated beef tenderloin steak was delicious and the preparation with paprika and cilantro roasted Yukon potatoes, sauted pepper medley, onions, tomato and jalapenos, cilantro jasmine rice, lomo saltado sauce and spicy ahi verde sauce... a wonderful combination of flavors. Even the Terravant 1903 Cab was drinkable unlike the swill that AA serves.

Sad to realize that the days are numbered for this great product as VX will disappear into Alaska which will surely kill it.

Has VX cut back on their catering? Flew IAD-SFO last Friday night. Was really looking forward to the butter chicken after seeing SFO777's pictures. Was served an eggplant starter with mini pitas. The butter chicken was a total letdown. It was really watery (spice was perfect), and barely filled half my plate. No salad or bread either! Lemon raspberry tart was good though. Still, the food quantity left me hungry after being served three courses, and I had to order something from the back.
Hoping I have a better meal on today's return flight.

I always get excellent feedback about the butter chicken....I just served it yesterday. There is no salad this menu cycle - hence the eggplant starter. You definitely should have gotten bread - not sure why that wasn't served to you. New menu starts June 16.
