Update...Logged in this morning and the points rollover has taken effect. The status points that I had above the 50k required for Gold renewal are now showing as my status points for 2015 YTD.

Curious to hear how it worked out for those are you who are Silver or Elevate...Please post...

I status matched to gold, completed the challenge with many points to spare, but did not have enough pts to get gold without the match (I ended the year with about 25k status pts). No pts rolled over.

I was hoping that the pts over and above the amount needed for the challenge would roll over, but that's probably asking too much.

It might be worth your time to compose an email to the Gold elevate team and explain the situation. Even if the T&C of the status match and credit card clearly articulate a set of rules that mean you don't get gold, they might be willing to make an exception as a "one time courtsey". It's happened for me many times, even when their terms are at odds with my request. It helps that you're a silver member (and thus an especially valuable customer in their eyes) for 2015.

Most recently, I missed gold qualification by ~1K points. I shot them a polite and civil email, told them I intended to make gold but missed it by a bit, and that Id be flying a lot in the next year. They responded with a message telling me that id be bumped to Gold as a one time courtesy. As a general rule, they're willing to make exceptions when a guest relations principles suggest that someone is eligible for some perk but doesn't technically qualify. In this case, you have the status points, but some small rule or misunderstanding is preventing you from attaining the reward. This logic never works with other airlines, but VX is surprisingly receptive to it!

Oh, no, I'm still gold! I completed the challenge. That make me gold until the end of this year. I just didn't have any status pts roll over. So I need a full 50k status pts this year to maintain gold.

It shouldn't be too hard. I got 25k in the last 4 months of last year (5k from FTE, 5k from CC spend, and 15k earned the old fashioned way). Even if you ignore FTE that puts me on a pace to earn 45k from flying and 15k (the max) from the CC. So even if I slow down the flying a bit I should be fine.

Meant for a chat window?

I'm a Silver and my rollover count is now correct.

I'm still incorrect at last check (which was about five minutes ago), and I emailed them about the issue last night. I actually forgot about the Christmas miles (the 500), but that can go on top of the stack of issues here (1/1 and 1/2 flights still not posted, status points from the cc not rolled over, and points from a referred friend flying FC from the loyaltymademedoit offer still outstanding). As I think I noted earlier, I would have given them the last one for a few more weeks...but since my account has a bunch of little goofs I tried to sweep in as much at once.

If I take into account the 500 points from Christmas, I'm 8000 points short, and I'm somewhere between 2290 and 18005 status points short (depending on which interpretation of the CC rollover rules one subscribes to). I would argue for 18005 on the basis of the wording implying that all points should roll, but I really ought to have 7290 at a bare minimum (5000 CC rollovers plus 2290 points earned on or after 1/1) on the grounds that even taking a more narrow interpretation of the rules (that it is only the CC points that roll), there's no exception saying "If you don't get silver, nothing rolls over".

Edit: VegasGambler, I should be in about the same boat as you: I'm counting at least five one-way cross-country trips this year (one already taken care of), and the odds of it staying that low are...well, not zero, but pretty close to it. 15,000 off the CC and a minimum 5,000 rollover should put me at a manageable need of 30,000 for Gold. 2290 of that is down, and I should be knocking down another 3750 at the start of February (DCA-DAL-LAX and LAX-SEA). If the full spend from last year carries over...well, then 33k should be taken care of before future spending comes into the mix which would make this almost absurdly cheap to manage.

I had 120,000 status points last year and re-qualified for Gold this year. Now my status is back to like 7,000 for YTD. Shouldn't it be 77,000, when you subtract the 50k needed to hit gold? Anybody else still having this problem?

Yeah it seems so (assuming that you have the premium CC -- ie, the one with the $150 AF). You should call and ask. This benefit seems to be the one that's the most poorly worded. It's not at all clear if all status pts over your threshold roll over, or the status pts over the threshold, with a max of the status pts you get from the CC, or only the status pts that you get from the CC if, when you get them, you are already over the threshold.

I had been working under the assumption that it was anything above your threshold (because the other options are really dumb) but now I'm really not sure.

Unfortunately the CSR is not going to know either.
