I thought it would be interesting to bring this thread back up now that we've had some time to get use to the new Status tiers.
I for one am curious to see if the program is going as well as you had hoped. I will have to admit that I like the bonus miles and haven't had a complaint yet about not being able to get the seats I wanted when booking my flights.
In fact just two days ago I booked SFO-PHL and MCS/E were wide open. I has some speculations that at least the express seat would be filled with elites now that a few more have been added to the tiers lately.

Just got matched to Elevate Gold. Never set foot on a Virgin America flight before and I'm starting to regret having made a reservation this month. Seems my wife will have to pay $20 if she wants to sit with me in the MC Xpress seats. Also the agent said I should divide the record if I wanted to have a better chance at getting an upgrade. Seems Virgin prefers Elite members to travel alone.

@MileTex,
Yeah! It's just a matter of time before they start to extend coverage for at least one companion on the same ticket. ^
Bustir seems rather odd that if a flyer is in say, MC and upgrades to MCS or even F, everyone on the reservation gets the upgrade!

I'm hoping priority security, at least, applies to everyone on the PNR.

I'm not sure about MCS or even MCE having that perk when it comes to security check point. I looked on the website for that info and didn't find it (yet). I'm also looking for confirmation that MCE passengers aren't charged for drinks and meals too. I thought I read somewhere that they had that same perk as MCS passenger. Anyone know the answers?
Thanks.
Thanks.
