Pricing query - JFK to Aspen?
Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right board to be posting this in (wasn't sure if it should be here or Travelbuzz? I'm a newbie here
), but I'll give it a go! We are planning a trip to NYC from Australia in Dec 2015 - will be our third time - over xmas and NYE. We are then wanting to go *somewhere* for approx five days on our way home to go skiing/boarding. At the moment we are considering Park City/Vail/Aspen.
I'm basically wondering if anyone is travelling from JFK (open to other airports) to Aspen in early Jan and what the prices were like? Obviously the prices for this coming Jan have already increased, so I'm hoping to hear from people who booked a little earlier, or have experience booking this route.
I know Park City/SLC is probably our best option in terms of flights from JFK and transfer times to the village, but I want to give Aspen a chance if the flights won't be too ridiculous!
Thanks very much

All three are great places...but Aspen and Vail are more expensive in both finding a place to stay/rent and tickets to ski. The information before was found in TripAdvisor.com for the second week of January, 2015. Those are round trip prices. A few more things: there are other places to ski that are close to Park City and the snow is real dry...easier to ski for us spoiled folks. Plus, Denver is the cheapest airport to fly into for Aspen/Vail but the drive can be a pain....that is completely up to you. Good luck and have a wonderful time in the US!

American Airlines has a daily non-stop flight from JFK to EGE, which is about a half hour drive to Vail and less than that to Beaver Creak. American also flies non-stop daily from EGE to LAX.
You may wish to explore pricing a round trip ticket from Australia to New York with a stop at Vail on the back way home via Los Angeles.

LGA may offer more flights and pricing including Frontier Air (will pay baggage fees). It is probably $20 o/w for up to four passenger taxi fare so just do the calculations.
