Need some help to book Awards

I found a way around my problem flying out of IAD.
My question now is which is which flight do I want to book on which aircraft
343 or 744?? I will have 2 in first and 3 in business

On the 343 Business is directly behind the F cabin. The F cabin only has 8 seats as opposed to 16 F seats on the 747. The only two seats together are in the middle of the cabin so neither of you would have a window seat.
On the 747 F is upstairs and Business is downstairs. The cabin layout is 2x2.

That helps thanks for the explanation, I guess the 343 will be better to keep an eye on the kids.

I called today to try and put my outgoing on hold as I am 3 days from the 330 days till my return. I got a very helpfull agent on the phone that booked excatly what I wanted and was able to book the return
Not quite sure how this was possible as all the other agents that I had talk to said it had to be 330 days out. But I have flight numbers and confirmation codes.
The only thing that was troubling was that she would not let me ticket she said I have to wait 24hrs as LH as the right to reject the reservation. Is this standard common practice or should I call back?
Ticket fees and taxes were almost $200 per ticket does this sound right?

Just wanted to say thank you to those that helped me plan this I do not know if it would have happend without the info I received here.
As I mentioned we have to fly out of IAD for me to get the 2 in first and 3 in Business so I will have to take a flight from EWR to IAD that morning.
I am flying LH 6/24 returning on 7/16
Flight 417 IAD to FRA 3:30pm to 5:30am
Flight 3840 FRA to FCO 7:25am to 9:10am
and my return
FCO to FRA flight 3853 6:45am to 8:45am
FRA to IAD flight 418 1:10pm to 3:40pm
and back to EWR on CO
As it turns out we have one of each flight on 343 and 744 so we will get to try both.
I have a 4 hour layover at FRA any suggestions on what they have there that the kids might be interested in?
