Flying F with US

Hi everyone,

First time on this board and will be my first time flying with an American carrier.

What service can me and my friend expect in F and what kind of seat? We are flying JFK-PHX-LIH. 757 & a321 I believe?

We will be connecting at JFK off BA1 LCY-JFK with plenty of time for connection but only an hour connection at PHX is an hour enough time? We will only have hand luggage.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards

Jamie

As you'll be flying on US, I"ll move your post to the US Airways forum.

As a reminder, there's a sticky at the top of the forum which explains how the AA forums operate:

An hour in PHX, with only hand luggage and a domestic connection will be plenty of time. No dawdling but plenty of time.

Service will be fine but nothing to write home about.

That BA1 LCY-JFK flight (and I've only flown it once) ranks as one of the most enjoyable flights I've ever taken. Any domestic US flight after that would be a considerable let-down

Also, a one-hour connection in PHX is fine. I have several upcoming connections there < 1 hour and I'm not worrying.

I'll have to chime in and say your seats will be more than spacious in comparison with the "new" and atrocious BA Club Europe, with the new nadir of Business Classes 30" seat pitch.

The 757 is getting pretty long in the tooth - interiors are old and the IFE (if turned on) consists of overhead monitors. It's also one of the only mainline US planes which doesn't have Wifi available (which I find to be the biggest drawback especially on flights to/from PHX from the east coast).

You'll be over water on the 757 so the wifi won't much matter anyway, but IMO domestic US 757s are an embarrassment to the fleet. My last flight on a US 757 PHX-HNL and back had ashtrays in the armrests. Though you'll be en route to Hawaii so just focus on that (I'm writing this from Maui and it's amazing)

The 321s are generally pretty nice especially if you get one of the new ones.

One hour in PHX is more than enough. Everything is connected via moving sidewalks so no need to wait for a tram or anything.
