Legacy US Airways / America West 757-2S7 ("B75H") to / from Hawai'i

This "West" or "Hawaii" (B75H) (ex-HP) aircraft is distinguished by offering 14 First class seats (2x2 across, 38" pitch, ~20" width reclining seats), 176 standard "Main Cabin" / economy seats (3x3 across, 32" pitch, 17" width) including 10? exit row seats designated Main Cabin Extra.
These aircraft are being retired from AA service and returned to their lessor and will be replaced by the Legacy U. S. Airways "East" (non-HP, US 757-2B7 / B57E with 12 "Envoy" angled flat 2 x 2 seats in First, 164 standard "Main Cabin" seats with 12 exit row seats designated MCE, beginning in April 2018. (Thanks to TWA884 - see here.)
No power, no IFE; at least the LHP "West" 752s (like the LAA "Eisenhower" F seats) have no head rests.

I will be be going to Maui this May on a 757-200 and I hear this plane is tired and worn out. I hope it is not as bad as it seems.

I do believe the west 757's have been refurbished a la 737-400 style. New seat covers, overhead bin doors, and LCD screens similar to those on the east 757's and 767's. See link for west 757 interior.

For how long does US plan to keep the former AW 757s? Does anyone know?

I don't know but the reason East flew one of the HNL routes last fall was that one of the West 757's lease expired. The replacement is supposed to come onto the property during this quarter.

SeatGuru says 4A&C, on 752, have limited recline. True?
Why would seats 4A&C have limited recline but not 4D&F? Isn't the bulkhead behind both rows? This is the first configuration, the one that flies to & from HI I believe.

There is no coat closet so the coat hooks are on the forward side of the bulkhead behind seats D/F. If coats are hung there it limits seatback recline.

It isn't a coat hook issue then. I haven't personally been on a West 757 so don't really know what else could cause the difference.

Anyone know the answer? Why do 4A/C have restricted recline? Maybe an error on SeatGuru?

So are these Hawaiian 757s fitted with the standard first class seat or the Envoy recliners the that the East 757s have?

The seatguru 757 listed above has 14 first class seats. Is the 8-first class seat version still in use and, if so, does it ever fly to Hawaii?

Nope, the 8 seat versions are gone. All of the planes for HI are old America West jets. TVs in the ceiling and rows sort of close together - but larger seats than coach and much better service. Meals are good.
