That would be a funny high-speed chase, if he actually got a hold of a tug.

I could just picture John Bunell, the World's Wildest Police Videos guy narrating it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIAWq...eature=related

I like the way they tried to minimize the whole thing:

"Authorities said Riebesel never had access to any aircraft or the airport's runways"

If he was on the tarmac how could he NOT have access to the runways and aircraft??

There was actually a high-speed chase a few years ago at PHX. A guy in a stolen pickup crashed it through a fence near the fire station by terminal 3, and drove it down taxiway E with police in pursuit. He got hung up in another fence at the west end of the airport.

Push tugs generally don't go more than 30MPH, and bag tugs barely hit 15. He wouldn't have gotten far.

Word has it that the employee who challenged him and held him down is a retired Chicago cop. He tried to drive away but was put in a headlock before he could start it up.

Ah, yes! I remember what happened the bad guy that he got stolen truck in downtown Phoenix. They were chasing him down. He's trying to break through the security gate. I remember what happened the entire airport is shutdown. He didn't sneak past at security checkpoint. From now on, they already install the barrier security gate. No one would go through the security gate.

Anyone else picture the scene from Liar Liar when Jim Carey hijacked a flight of stairs?
