If you are looking for discussion on US's new partner awards that use various partners not in oneworld (many of whom are former *A partners), see the devoted thread on using US miles to book NON-oneworld partners here.

Today I tried to book a trip for 2 as outlined above - no luck.
We would have preferred a flight into Scotland, were told mid-June has no availability. Suggested FRA w/long layover, was denied the layover, and an onward flight to N. Asia was denied as it is in region 3. Cannot be flown from region 1. Clearly this is a situation for HUACA, but I want to know, if I stand on firm ground.
Ideally, it would be mid-june flight from ORD to GLA or EDI, open jaw from IST to PVG, PVG to ORD, then SPI.
If this is impossible, then: SPI-ORD-FRA (90 days layover)-SIN (Less 23 hrs.)-PVG(destination for 10 days or so)-ORD-SPI.
Do I have a leg to stand on, or do we return from Europe?
It was impossible to be connected to a CR yesterday, today the CR seemed not be well informed.
Any advice is appreciated, as I am new to this sort of routing.

Well, I had the info on the flight to Scotland, before I even gave the onward flights, and that was denied. Yes, I know, HUACA. Now I have the info on FRA-PVG, will see, how that comes out.??

its quite simple. Go to United.com and select 'book award travel' Break your itinerary down to segments... USA-Europe, then Europe to PVG, then PVG to home. Enter your dates and see what comes up. Look under the 'award saver' category. Whatever flights come up there you are likely able to book through USDM.

I guess I am very lucky? I called US airways to book my award reservation going to N Asia. Anhow, the reservation agent was super nice person and completed my reservation less than 20 minutes. JFK-IST-CDG-BKK-TYO (C and F mix with TK and TG). Return flight will be the same.....
I heard that TK C and TG F ( A380 ) is pretty nice, so I am very excited. On the waqy coming back from TYO, I will have STOP over in BKK and total mile is still 120K. I am very lucky? Skyteam and Oneworld did not allow me to fly to Asia through Europe... I will be able to have 23 hours layover in IST and CDG, so I will be able to visit quite many cities for my vacation!

I'm still trying to book this N Asia trip with a stopover in Europe, and availability continues to haunt me. However, I wanted to see if the following would work:
JFK-ICN (OZ F, destination)
ICN-KIX-IST (NH/TK J, stopover) or ICN-FRA-IST (LH/TK J)
IST-LIS-EWR (TK/TP J) or IST-CAI-JFK (MS J)
Both of the return routings include a 20ish hour layover in LIS or CAI, respectively. If I'm not mistaken, this should price at 100k per person, right?
Thoughts?

Routing ICN-IST through FRA will have a tough time meeting MPM

Even the shortest routing you have proposed (ICN-KIX-IST-LIS-EWR) is over 25% MPM. It'll take agent roulette to get this done...

Could someone tell me the US MPM for MEX-USM, if it is published for this route?
