"operated by"
I booked two flights as MR to get the DEQM. When I booked them, all the flights said United with a United flgt #. Now I look at my itinerary and I see 3 of the 6 flights say United "operated by" (they do not say who they are operated by yet but I get the feeling they will end up being code share flights). First, why is this happening? Second, do I have a right to the originally booked mileage? I am only doing these for the DEQM and if I am going to not receive credit because they are codeshared now I will be very angry. Finally what should I do to make sure i get credit and DEQM's?

They will still be operated by united and you will receive deqm. This happens to some of my itineraries too.

Operated By could also mean United Express. Anything operated by United Express will still get you DEQM.
If it is operated by US Airways, Air Canada, etc, then no DEQM. You should still get EQM and RDM, but on Air Canada and some others you will not get elite bonus RDM.
Have you tried to look the flight numbers up on .bomb to verify the operating carrier?

If you can list one of the flight numbers it would help -- United Express regionals will count toward DEQM.
It may help to check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Express
for the list of flight number ranges. Many (most?) 4 digit flight numbers not in the above ranges are operated by separate airlines and not eligible for DEQM.

routes
I am flying ORD to PDX and IAD to HNL. The only true MR is the later, the former actually has a purpose.
At issue is flight 0779 Den to PDX; flight 0083 lax to hnl and 0922 ord to IAD.

First you need to provide more information
Operated by will show up for UX flights and will count for DEQM. If you could provide flight numbers (original and present) it would be easier to tell.
If it is a co-share instead and this was a change from the original booking due to a schedule change, then you need to get on the phone and find out exactly what happen -- but if truly a change then you can work with MP Customer Service and get you DEQM credit.

This has happened to me when flying from SFO to LAX. It seems to be a bug with UA's website.

For decoding UA flight numbers to operator -- go to page six of the Worldwide PDF Timetable this will be the most up-to-date data--

I'm pretty sure those flights are operated by UA, so you shouldn't have any problem with DEQM.

The flight numbers will unambiguously tell you if the operator is United or a UX partner that United treats as UX metal.
Look at page 10 of
http://www.uatimetable.com/United.pd...+timetable+PDF
As of May 1, 2009, a flight number between 1 and 1099, inclusive, is United (looks like the Ted-era numbers are gone ^), and a flight number between 5650 and 8099 is United Express (UX). Flights in those ranges will earn DEQM.
