On 9/11 UA929 was diverted to Gander. After 24 hr sitting on the tarmac packed in with 30 other heavy aircraft we finally disembarked, were processed by Canadian immigration and bussed off to Gambo. For the next 7 days we were refugees under the magnificent care of the Salvation Army.
Ooops sorry FTers hopefully the image is now embedded!
After 7 days stranded in Gambo flight UA929 finally re-boarded and departed Gander. This was the last UA flight to return home following the 911 cataclysm and we received a heroes welcome from UA staff upon arrival in ORD.
