Awards Valid On Codeshare?
Does anyone know if first class awards are valid on code share flights? Specifically, I'd like to go SFO-KIX on UA but return NRT-SFO on ANA since UA will be switching to non-first suite 747-400 next year. Is it possible to mix and match if the ANA has a UA code-share or do I have to make the whole trip on the same airline?
Thanks,
Paul

Agree with all about the award usage on ANA, but where did you get the idea that the NRT-SFO 744 flight will be a non-suite aircraft.
Even United doesn't know internally until about four days before which aircraft is going to be on a given route, and reservations doesn't find out until the night before.
Since UA is converting all of the 744s to First Suite layouts (by when is always a fun question), I don't think you can assume that your flight from NRT to LAX will be non-suite, and I know you can't assume it will always be a non-suite aircraft.
