I was amazed to learn that Joe's new 1k status had posted to both MP and reservations by Monday morning, after he returned from his trip Sunday evening.

if a later short haul trip just brings you over the 50'000 status miles barrier, then don't give your Mileage Plus number for the (earlier) long haul flight and ask for that credit only AFTER the (later) short haul trip was credited and made you Premier Executive!

My 1K status was on website a few hours after I stepped off last flight. Now THAT is impressive!

It does kick in quickly with regard to MP but takes reservations about 5 days or so to take hold. Their computers don't talk to one another very often this way, it seems.
I saw my new 1K status on the website the next day after the flight, but when I called to make reservations it was a hassle because they didn't "see" the status and it took a number of days.
Same thing happened when I became a 1P.
