Triple Miles
In today's Los Angeles Times, United is offering triple miles between LAX and the following cities: San Francisco, San Jose, Miami. You must register by phone (800-645-4502 code 53).
Tickets must be purchased by April 1st for travel between March 11 and May 31. Flights must be non-stop. Mileage Plus members will receive triple miles or 1,500 miles, whichever is greater.
The 1,500 minimum is quite generous, since the LAX-SFO route is a shuttle, and you normally get about 337 miles.

thank you - I might use it in may-99 (I will buy the ticket in march).
I wonder if the basic (= status) -miles credit for shuttle LAX-SFO will, for this promo, be 337 or 500 miles. (I "suspect" it will be 337).

Rudi, I would agree with your guess on how many qualifying miles you will get. It will be interesting to see how they calculate the total mileage for PremEx and above.
