segments (for status)?
Actually (not at home) I don't have my UA/Star-Alliance-file at hand.
Do Star-Alliance-partner-segments count for UA-Status (as miles do)?
How many segments for 1K?
May be your answer can spare me an extra cheap but time-consuming little detour on my next weeks trip just to fix my next year's 1K (I might have it by dec-31st with segments; with miles I need another 1'000).
Thank you for advise.

100 segments are needed for 1K
I presume that if you can get miles towards premier status, then the segment would also count.

United no longer counts segments towards 1K. Only miles will count towards 1K.

The United web site still states that 100 segments are needed for 1K status. If United changed this rule it must have been done recently. Rudi please contact United for the latest rules.

Segments still COUNT. UA (only) gave up the special transocean-segment rules (for example 5 were needed for Premier).
I am not 100% sure yet on the counting of Star-Allaince-Partner-flights as counting segments (but very probably they count).

ANYBODY who flys 100 segments on ANY airline ought to get red carpet treatment.
If you visited your favorite restaurant 100 times during a year, you should get the best seat in the house, a special meal from the chef and recognition from the owner.
