Checked bag question

I'm flying ORD-CVG-ORD-PDX next week to make a pitstop for a meeting in Cincinnati before I head home.

If I check a bag in ORD, can it be checked through to PDX so that I don't need to figure out what to do with it in CVG for 7 hours? It seems like that ought to be okay, but I've never taken a back-tracking route like this before.

Is this all one ticket? If so shouldn't be a problem.

If your ORD-PDX segment is on its own ticket just check your bag onto that flight when you get to ORD in the morning.

Bag check doesn't open until 4 hours prior to flight time, so that wouldn't be possible if the OP has 7hrs in CVG.
