But what's the deal taking award trips when you're going for 1K?
well it was either this trip would be an award trip or the trip to buenos aires would be an award trip, so now it looks like i'll just pay the $ for the EZE trip and upgrade that with miles or trade for a couple of SWU's

On the 747 or what? I certainly wouldn't bet on it being the new config, but that's just me...

i'm fairly sure it'll be the new F, and if not, i can always try to swap things around a little.

on LH i'm looking at F on the A346 or 747

edit: i would rather not post the routing yet, till my tix are confirmed

I was just kidding, I'm not going to steal all the award inventory out from under you! I've been hassling the 1K desk enough as it is with my Asia plans for August... Consequently, I hate the very idea of the Olympics at this point!

And I've got my own CRTW that'll take me over the pond in April/May...hmm...Is it worth it to upgrade to F on the 346?

I've thought about trying this too. But, if SWUs can only be used at the gate on a standby basis, don't you have to actually be willing to fly in one of LH's micro-sized E seats?

I'm talking a C->F upgrade in this particular case. Y->C is something I'll have to try later this year.
