Sure, but don't you think the folks at UA would have factored that in when they made the business case for Ted (and probably continue to analyze this on an ongoing basis)? I guess the question is, what makes Flyertalk folks think they know more than what UA Corporate knows (in terms of Ted profitability on a network-wide basis)?

To the first question, no, I don't. To the second, most employees know better, not to mention FT'ers.

That doesn't mean anything - UA doesn't have to and shouldn't publish that sensitive information.

But if it was that unprofitable, don't you think they would be changing their tune? If some of these rumors about F class returning to Ted are true, maybe they are.

IIRC UA touted the financials from the E+ upsells to employees, which then becomes "public". If TED is that successful, why not brag about it?

not for 1 second do i think that i know more than them about a route's profitability -- they have the data, i don't.

there's only 1 thing (in regards to their planes) that i know more about than them -- whether or not i'm going to be on them.

like a previous poster said, i'll do everything possible to avoid flying Ted, which always means not flying UA when i fly to/from LAS, and with all the plane substitutions i was hit with in january (booked F in mainline DEN/SFO and SFO/RNO and RNO/SFO, ended up in E+ on Ted planes), will in the future mean that i won't fly UA for any domestic flights.

Another great reason for the 150 seats would be right now. I am sitting by D33 waiting on the 4th FA to get here... Intresting note, it is 631, flight was to depart at 620. Both UALCargo and .bomb still show the flight on time.

At least there is free Wifi in Vegas I guess.

I find it hard to believe most employees have even heard of FT, much less care. If there was ever a definition of "fringe element", thats' us. :)

That wasn't the question he posed. However you are correct most employees don't know FT.

My experience is that most all the FAs to whom I mention FT already know about us...and know that UA management reads the threads.

Also, this may have been mentioned but IIRC Ted was pitched to United by the same consulting firm that helped create CO Lite and Song. United should have known better from the start.
