No toothpaste or tooth brush in the C kit on UA895 ORD-HKG on 2 Oct :( Yeah, the bag was really empty...

Yes, same thing on same flight on Oct 5. Back to the horrible little Colgate.

No toothpaste or toothbrush in the amenity kits (or the lavs) on 908 ORD to AMS yesterday.

Had toothpaste in the bag a month ago on SYD-LAX, but none on the way back last week. However, presumably because we'd been delayed for 13 hours overnight, they FAs came round at the start of the flight with a big basket of toothbrushes and paste (Rembrandt for those who are keeping track) for everyone to take.

It was a much appreciated gesture, though it would have been much nicer if they'd handed them out in the RCC the night before!

Since ozstamps has started a new thread on the same topic as the last few pages of this thread, perhaps a mod could merge them?

No toothbrush or toothpaste in the amenity kit IAD-LHR. FAs seemed surprised, purser even told me "it's in your amenity kit." Apparently still in F though, since he offered to bring me some from there if none could be found in C. ^

Toothbrushes and travel size tubes of CREST :) were eventually made available in the lav. (But that's another story I have posted on lucky's thread about improved UA service lately).

See the above post for the reason that the little tubes of Colgate are gone - they were poisonous counterfeits...

Your article doesn't mention the Colgate in UA's amenity kits being poisionous counterfeits, so your statement doesn't hold true. I'm fairly sure Colgate and UA would have no tolerance for "fake" branded products being in amenity kits.

The issue with the toothpaste in UA's amenity kits is that they were made in China (which makes sense, because that's where the amenity kits are assembled) - and when there was an embargo on toothpaste being exported from China, UA had to remove it from their kits.

Mixed results.

ORD-LHR on 10/8 - no toothpaste/brush in C amenity kit, no supply in Lav.

LHR-ORD on 10/15 - toothpaste/brush in C kit AND supply in lav as well.

Oct 12: SFO-ICN Nothing in C kit. Brush and "Freshmint" brand in lav

Out of curiosity, what else is in the C amenity kit? I've flown VA in the past, but am flying to LHR in January from LAX, UA 934/935.

Based on my SFO-ICN trip: Not much on any consequence
  • Socks
  • Ear plugs
  • Sleeping mask
  • Mints (2 small "pills")
  • Small pack of tissues
  • 0.5 oz of H20 Spa "Exfolitating Marine Body Butter"
... and the bag it all came in that says "United" on one side and "Relax" on the other.

Just got back from LHR in C. ORD-LHR no toothbush and tooth paste, but LHR-ORD toothbrush and big toothpaste made in India.

Tomato Ketchup with your brush?

LHR-SFO yesterday, kit contained brush as usual, and a new 15oz (4.25g) sachet of Colgate (made in the USA, apparently), which looks just like the sachets you find on your table in family restaurants. Onetime use only in this format.....
