Some of those totals remind me of what i was once told ablout stocks and shares, buy and sell but never fall in love with them. they are getting harder to digest annually. What happens if bankrupcy strikes?
how can some of you ever hope to use them all? Me and the other half have a couple of trips a year to keep the total < 250K

Current mileage balance is 395K with an additional 65K from now through Dec 16 (driven by the 2x EQM MR). I have not burnt my miles because I have been busy flying AA and CO all year long.

My highest balance was about 500k RDMs. I've collected a little over 2 million redeemable miles in the time I've been with Mileage Plus, but my policy is to burn 'em, not hoard 'em. Life is short; the world is big.
I try to keep my balance above 100k in case of emergencies, or for opportunities to do something fun on short notice. Mr. Lori_Q and I are staying on-continent for this year's Formula One trip, so I have some time to save up for Saver First awards to Monza the following year.

I tend to use them whenever I can. You never know what may happen down the road. Also, it is not hard to burn them with a wife and 2 kids. I don't think my son has ever bought a revenue ticket in his life.

As of yesterday I was at 301K (my highest on UA)
Now down to 160K after booking AKL-BKK RT on TG F and BKK-SIN RT on SQ F for March
My comfort level for number of points is about 200K
