It can be updated anytime, not only at night. Congrats on 1P!

For US flights, my experience is that it takes longer than UA flights to post. I think on average 3 days.

Boy, that is compulsive! Even I've wondered if something was going to post this week or next month, but I've never worried about which minute of the day.

Congrats on your new status.

Segments posted overnight. United.com says I am a real Premier Executive now. Yay!

But I still can't book exit rows. How long does THAT take to start working?

Congratulations! Call the PE desk, which should be able to
help on the exit row situation. Tried to e-mail you the #,
but you don't take e-mail.

Always confirm that the airline did indeed input your mileage number, it will appear on your boarding pass. The only problem I have ever had with mileage posting is when my number did not appear on the boarding pass. I agree with previous posts, US Air posts quickly if your mileage number is in the system.

Miles for US flights...typical lag time?

First: I did try searching first, but it tells me that 'US' is too short a search term.

During a recent trip, I took two US flights (one on YV metal) on 10/25, and two UA flights on 10/31. Credit for the UA flights appeared on 11/1; to date the US flights have not. What is the typical lag time for credit for US flights?

Other information of unknown relevance:
  1. I booked on Expedia, citing only my UA#;
  2. The whole itinerary (all four flights) appeared on both airlines' sites;
  3. US' site showed no Dividend Miles #;
  4. UA's site showed my MP#, and said '500 award miles' (223 flown) and '1514 award miles' for the two US flights;
  5. I tried the Missing Mileage Credit function both on united.bomb and the Mileage Plus IVR; US is not an option for either. Both invite me to send my boarding passes. Side question: in case this later proves necessary, is it the actual passes or a copy I should send?

Thanks everyone!
Chris

Uh oh. US miles post pretty quickly as long as your MP number is in the US system. You should have 'em by now, and since you don't, I'm guessing your MP number never got entered. It was happening pretty regularly to me for a while.

Send the actual BP's, but hang on to copies. Or, you can fax copies to . . . I can't find the number right now, but I bet it's up somewhere in the stickies.

It usually takes an extra day or so for mine to post if and when they ever do. Depends if they entered into the US system as a UA number. If not you need to mail it in:

To submit your request for credit, please send a written request with the information listed below: Your name and Mileage Plus account number
A copy of your ticket or E-Ticket receipt
Your original boarding pass

Information should be mailed to the Mileage Plus service center: United Mileage Plus
P.O. Box 6124
Rapid City, SD 57709-6124

NOTE: You can also submit your request for retroactive mileage credit on All Nippon Airlines, SWISS, TAP Portugal or THAI online. You can access the online form at www.united.com/retrocredit.

Please allow 2 months for the miles to be posted to your Mileage Plus account.

hmmm...

Mine posted from an August US transcon about 3-4 days later. In fact, I think all the US flights I've had the misfortune to take posted fairly quickly. I'd say the op should go to "Concerned" mode, but hold short of "Panic Mode."
