744 Return to Domestic Routes?

Hi all,

I was checking around for my winter flights (November and Decembet) to the west coast... and there they were... ORD-SFO, ORD-LAX, SFO-ORD and LAX-ORD 744 flights!

Let the celebrations (and upgrades) commence!

Barratt

There are a couple of threads within the past two weeks on this. There are scattered 744 flights (e.g., SFO-ORD on 11/27) over the next few months.

I just found one and booked ORD-LAX as part of my trip home for the holidays. Now I just need to decide if I risk using 500 milers and have it not clear, or dump the 15,000 miles to guarantee my spot on my first 744 in close to 2 decades (I think the right answer is miles since I want to experience this before booking an Australia trip in C for next year). I'm pretty sure my last 744 was a family trip between ORD and HNL in "the hump" as I used to call it.

Worst part of this itinerary though is the 763 on the way to ORD

The latest timetable shows UA139 ORD-SFO as a 744 from 11/17-11/27. I'm still looking for others to book a MR around.

I travelled ORD-LAX last Fall on UA and it was a 744. It was great! Business class had such an amazing pitch. Much more than the previous LH A340 flight and the SQ 744 flight on that trip.

I would use the miles to upgrade. You can figure out what to expect (both service and comfort wise) for your flight to Australia. I would also use the miles to get on the upper-deck!! ^ ^

Looking at the schedule, ORD-SFO actually had lost 3 777, replace by 1 744. UA 831 at 8am used to be 777, then 763, now 752. UA 139 at 10am used to be 777, now becomes 744. UA 149 at 3pm used to be 777, now becomes 763

Not on my flights

I just looked at my flight back from ORD (941) on Dec 31 and I still see the old 763. I'm hoping it will change to either a 777 or 747. It is shown as a 777 in November so maybe they will change it.

I am going IAD - SFO Dec 9 with a return Dec 15 and did not see any 744 flights listed on UAL.com. What time are the 744 flights you saw?

There are much worse planes to fly on. CRJ anyone?

The 767's aren't bad. Seats are a little tight in the premium cabins, but they're good in Y. Main gripe though is the lack of overhead space.

I agree with you about a three class 767, but a two class is a flying Greyhound. The "first class" is terrible.
