Exit rows should be avoided as they are cold and dangerous :-) Haven't you seen the movie where the door pops open and you get sucked out. Avoid the exit and let an air marshal or some braver FT person sit there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the possibility of a door "popping off" in flight is next to zero (if not less). The doors open IN (even the over wing exits) which means that they would have to "pop off" while being held in place by the cabin pressurization which is signficantly higher than the outside air pressure at 30,000 feet.

(Kidding aside, I have traded with my wife at least twice to take the window in exit rows, as it was too chilly for her)
