Ted
I have to change my outbound TED flight to a different time, same day, IAD-LAS. I thought when TED rolled out they were talking about an inexpensive change fee, say $25. I checked my fare rules more carefully and its $100. After flying TED once already and now seeing this, I don't see any benefit to the passenger (no upgrades, etc). What am I missing??? Sorry if this was already covered in another thread, I'm a newbie to this board.

I don't recall anything about lower change fees, but then again that's never been important to me. Of course, you can always stand by for a different flight for free.

I never heard any press about a lower change fee, they did say the fare syructure would be simplified.

Agreeing with everyone else
I too have never heard of a reduced change fee on Ted. I can remember some discussion of a cap on one way fares and a simplified fare structure, but nothing about a reduced change fee.
Lots of flyers on this board on unhappy with Ted's lack of first class, among other things, so you are not alone in your view. Unfortunately, all LAS flights are Ted, so there isn't much choice if you want to fly UA. If you are flying IAD-LAS in the future and upgrading is important, you might want to consider routing IAD-LAX-LAS or IAD-SFO-LAS, as with both these routings you will be able to sit in first class for most of the way.

The $25 change fee is offered by Independence Air. I am hoping the competition at IAD will make TED have a similar fee.

Not to mention WN's free changes has not compelled TED to lower their $100 fee where they compete directly.

But as SEA_Tigger indicates, if Ted isn't matching WN's no change fee (as United did previously with Shuttle - boy I miss that!), I can't see them matching the $25 Independence fee either.
