*S and priority boarding

*S and priority boarding
Does UA offer priority boarding to people with *Silver status? The UA website claims this as such, but the US website does not. I understand that I could priority board with my US3 status, but I'm interested in finding out whether UA offers this for people with status on other *A carriers.

Yes, *S are allowed to board in Seating Area 1 along with *G and UA Premier, Prem. Exec. and 1K members.

Some times it is announced but it is becoming less and less. If you are any of the elite memberships in *A you are automatically boarding in seating area 1, first to board.
I think they are trying to get away blantantly advertising at boarding that they are giving preferential treatment to elites as to not upset the leisure/vacation travelers. This way you get the privilege without their knowledge.

But I also think with such a long list the "Seating 1" simplify's the GA job by simply checking for that instead looking for each persons status or seeing each person's card.

This is not true on Air New Zealand, however. I was traveling as *S earlier this year and was told to wait and board with the rest of the non-status passengers.

That only applies to United operated flights. United seems to give *S member more perks than they are entitled to such as Priority Check-In, Economy Plus and Priority Boarding.
*G are the only members that get Priority Boarding *A wide. There may be some exceptions with other airlines in the *A.

I have to say UA treats *S great. I am *S this year and I could use Premier check-in, E+, and Seating 1 boarding. The only real difference between *S and *G is that *G gets lounge access.

I just flew Delta today first time in about 5 years. They use the same method. I have no status on there and I was seating group 8, ARRRGH.
Also, haven't been stuck boarding last in a long time. When did they start boarding from front to back in seating groups? or is this just a Delta thing. It woild make sens e to do it from back to front. There was a major log jam getting on the plane as people were just standing there in the aisle putting their gear in the overhead.
Seats seem to be wider than UA. On the MD-88 from IAD to ATL it was definitely more comfortable.
