I just flew Delta today first time in about 5 years. They use the same method. I have no status on there and I was seating group 8, ARRRGH.

Also, haven't been stuck boarding last in a long time. When did they start boarding from front to back in seating groups? or is this just a Delta thing. It woild make sens e to do it from back to front. There was a major log jam getting on the plane as people were just standing there in the aisle putting their gear in the overhead.

Seats seem to be wider than UA. On the MD-88 from IAD to ATL it was definitely more comfortable.
