Red-Eye SFO-ORD Preference: 752 or 763 in F?

Looking at booking this trip for next June. Flights leave and arrive within 15 mins of each other, wanted to get thoughts from the experts here as to which flight they would choose, both in F?

Thanks.

UA seems to change their gauge on this route very frequently. So because you are booking in June, chances are that the aircraft may change by then. As of late, the earlier redeye has been a 752 or A320, while the later one uses 319 and 320.

If sitting in F is a given, then I'd recommend the 752. If it's a 2-class 763, the "ghettobird" has a small seat pitch. The 752 is much more comfortable.

If it's a 3-class newly configured 763, (F, C, and Y)--then I'd recommend the 763 for IFE/seat comfort.

If none of that stuff matters, I'd suggest going for which one fits your schedule the best. The later redeye works better for me because I tend not to sleep on planes and don't want to get there super early.

If its a domestic 763 (and it almost certainly is), there is no question that the 757 is better.

Definitely take the 757! The seats are wider than the 767.

It depends.

It depends. Are you a window sleeper? Then take the 757. Are you an aisle person? Then maybe the 767, and get one of the center aisle seats; no one climbing over you.

whichever one flies slower. those flights are really short and tend to be very early. So every minute counts!

Agree the pitch is better on the 757, but a seat in the middle section of the 763 would guarantee no one would wake you up to hit the lav.

Agree with others. Check the config. If it is the domestic "ghetto bird," then the 752 is a must. If it is the international version, the the 767 is a must. 'nuff said.

It does, but not likely on that route.

Take the 757 and a window seat if possible if you want to sleep. This keeps you from having to get up and let the window seat pax out during the night, and also IME the FAs walking up and down the cabin frequently makes the floor "jounce" a bit and which is felt much more by aisle pax than window pax.

Legroom on the 767 in domestic F seems worse than on the 757, although window seats are still ok (or as OK as domestic F on a redeye can be). The middle two F seats are IME very poor for legroom on the 767, too.

It does, but only very, very rarely on red-eyes.

I have/will always fly Y exit row on the 763 domestic. I cancel UDU. I'll also generally avoid that aircraft if possible if I'm carrying a roll-aboard simply due to the poor OH space.

I've been on a couple of the 3-class 763, mainly IAD-SFO, in the past. That's a different story.

Give me the 752 every time for F, of those two choices.
