United FA pulls meal tray from the cart with her feet and gives it to me.

You know, I have seen just about everything on a UA plane but this one was not in the repertoire.

A septuagenarian FA, in C on a flight to Shanghai, was not able to reach my meal tray because it was at the bottom opposite side of the cart.

Instead of bending over, she reaches into the cart with her foot, touches the tray with the nasty shoes that have been all around the toilet and, voila, gives it to me.

I. was. shocked.

I complained to the purser but I suspect this fine group of individuals protect one another.

Should I write and ask for something?

This clearly takes the cake. If United expect to attract customers paying $8,000 to witness this kind of shenanigan, they need to stop smoking crack.

You most certainly should write about this. This is not acceptable anywhere, let alone in C. I did not believe the thread title could be accurate until I fully read your post.

Meal carts actually don't belong in the C cabin at all imo...

I have flown the SFO->PVG route 20+ times in C and I have never seen a meal cart in C before.

I'm positive that once in C on new configuration 767-300, for ord>sfo, they used meal cart for service.

For this to work mechanically, wouldn't the top of the shoe be placed against the bottom of the tray? Did the shoe ever come in contact with top of the tray or its contents?

Or, did the FA take off her shoes and use her toes to lift the tray out of the cart and place it on your tray table? If this is the case, I think we should be impressed with the FA's dexterity...

this was my first thought when I read the title.

AHEM... anyway... In all honesty this is crazy. I can't believe someone would have the gall to do that.

Did they get your meal type right? If so, they're one step better than AA F to Shanghai, even though they toe-fondled the meal.

Seriously though, the FA should know better. I don't care if it was just the top of the shoe and the bottom of the tray...if I see that out of the corner of my eye, my first thought is "gross!"

My first thought as well and the first words out of my mouth would be, "dont dare put that tray on my table".

The cart comes out when they are serving the starters/salads don't they?

IME, the cart comes out for drinks and the initial salad/appetizer service. When it comes time for the entree, the FAs bring those out individually. For dessert, they also have the steel cart to roll around (not sure where they store that..)

Honestly, as long as the service is good, food is decent, and seat is comfortable, I could care less about a cart rolling down the aisle
